FIS Telemark World Cup Opening - day 1

FIS Telemark World Cup Opening - day 1

For the second time in a row, Hintertux Glacier in Austria welcomes the world’s top Telemarkers for the inaugural World Cup event of the season this weekend. Some 100 of the fastest Telemark skiers in the world, coming from 12 different nations, will compete in this spectacular discipline in the Heart of the Alps.

In today’s women’s Sprint race, last year’s overall World Cup winner and Bornskier ambassador Amélie Reymond of Switzerland did it again! Reymond finished in first position ahead of Argeline Tan Bouquet of France for the second place and Thea Smedheim Lunde of Norway in third. In the men’s Sprint, Philippe Lau of France won ahead of two attacking vikings, Trym Loeken in second and Sondre Kristenstuen in third, both from Norway.

Next event will take place tomorrow – Saturday November 29 – on the glacier with the Sprint’s first run at 10:00 and the second one at 12:30.
