4 year old skier with hemophilia

Hemophilia is a genetic bleeding disorder that prevents the blood from clotting normally. Hemorrhage can occur in hemophiliacs after what would be a relatively minor injury to a person with normal clotting factors.

Thanks to our partner GoPro, we were able to follow a 4 year old boy with severe hemophilia on the slopes… This kid loves skiing the hills and never stops! That’s because skiing provides everything a young hemophiliac needs; priceless health and fitness benefits, sporting, mental and social development. Skiing is a fantastic family activity.

Success relies on technique more than strength; therefore progress is done steadily at its own pace. There is unquestionably a thrill to skiing and it develops core strength, coordination and balance.
