It was a beautiful day on the slopes of Montafon, Austria for the final day of this Snowboard Cross World Cup with the victory of Paul Berg and Konstantin Schad of Germany in the team snowboard cross race over Kevin Hill & Jake Holden of Canada taking the second place and Luca Matteotti and Michele Godino of Italy for third.
There was no less exitement in the women’s team event today with the victory of Raffaella Brutto and Michela Moioli of Italy. The two Italian racers relegated Lindsey Jacobellis and Callan Chythlook-Sifsof of the USA as well as Chloe Trespeuch and Nelly Moenne Loccoz of France in an enthralling women’s final staged.
Moioli, a young gun who had won the Sochi test event last season, managed to storm from fourth to first position as second team member thus overtaking Chythlook-Sifsof on the last metres of the finish straight. Maria Ramberger of Austria – and a BornSkier ambassador – along with her teammate Susanne Moll finished in the 7th place.
The next snowboard cross event, a single race, will take place in Lake Louise, Canada, December 20 and 21.
