FIS World Cup SG in Beaver Creek

Patrick Küng of Switzerland won the World Cup Super G. in Beaver Creek (USA) earlier today. With bib number 28, Patrick Küng took the lead earlier on, an advance that he kept and built to the end of the race to beat all the tenors of SuperG.

Küng took the top spot with a time of 1:21.73 ahead of Otmar Striedinger of Austria taking second place with 1:21.97 and his compatriot Hannes Reichelt in third with 1:22.11. Peter of Italy finish 4th, LIGETY Ted Ligety of the USA 5th, Thomas Mermillod Blondin of France 6th, Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway 7th, Werner Heel of Italy 8th and Kjetil Jansrud of Norway 9th.

This super G. could also have been that of Didier Defago; Very fast on the top of the course, the skier from Switzerland however, did not keep his momentum till the end and finished 11th.

“I do not believe it , it’s hard to achieve” said Patrick Küng. “I hope my victory will serve as a trigger to the Swiss team. We are on the right track” he added.
