Lebanese National Ski Team
Dany Chamoun was born in Beirut on March 23, 1993 and started skiing at the age of 3. With the help of his parents and Ski Passion Club, Dany used to ski during weekends in winter at Mzaar Ski Resort in Lebanon.
He joined Faraya-Mzaar Ski Club at the age of 8 where he started to fall in love with speed and get familiar with the world of racing.
Being trained by Arnaud Maillet, Dany was eager to ski faster than his older sister and cousins.
Dany won his first races at the age of 12 and went on being U12, U16, U21 National Champion. At the age of 19 Dany was ranked 3rd in the overall Men’s standing.
As a member of the Lebanese Alpine Ski Team for 10 years, Dany represented his country in major international races including:
– FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013, Schladming – Austria.
– World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships 2014, Jasna – Slovakia.
Dany is still racing and aiming to represent his country in the next Olympic Games in South Korea.
Despite minimal facilities, Dany is determined to develop winter sports in Lebanon and raise the national level.
