In 1997, only 20 years old Hedda won the World Championships in Telemark in Meiringen and also claimed the bronze medal in the combined disipline. In 2001, her first season on the alpine world cup circuit, she won the bronze medal in the Slalom at the World Alpine Championship in St. Anton. Then, 9 years later, at the age of 33 she surprised everyone with her Olympic Silver Medal in Skicross at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games. Hedda also has won world cup and has two X-Games Silver Medals in Skicross. In the summer Hedda competes in Kabel Wakeboarding and has several national championship medals in Wakeboarding and Wakeski.
Hedda has been a member of the Norwegian Freestyle skiteam from 2007-to day. Meanwhile, she has written 3 children and activity books. Currently she works in the Norwegian Ski Federation, educating new coaches as well as developing the education material. She also is a motivational speaker for sports teams and corporations who aim to optimize their motivation environments to gain development. In 2004/2005 Hedda worked at NTG-U (Norwegian College for Top Athletes – junior high school) as a coach and teacher for one year. After College, Hedda made the Norwegian Alpine skiteam and she was a member there for 3 seasons.
In 2011 Hedda earned her Masters Degree in Philosophy of Education from the University of Oslo. Right out of high school, Hedda moved to USA to study at Middlebury College and ski for the panthers. She got her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Middlebury College (1999).
