The Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia adopted a strategic project to turned Platak into a larger and more attractive recreational and tourist center.
Platak will be transformed into a modern recreational and tourist resort. The cost of construction is estimated at 130 Million Euros. Croatia is now looking for EU funds and also for possible public-private partnership for the development.
The vision for Platak includes a sports and recreation center operational throughout the year. As winter tourism is concerned the addition should be of five lifts, 14 new slopes with remodeling and constructions of a three-star hotel, a large parking lot and upgrade of the existing infrastructure.
The development was known for a long time but never addressed by the authorities. Now waiting for the official approval of the project which will improve Croatia’s winter sports activities.
