Alpine Skiing – Women: Great results for the Austrian skiers today in the Crans Montana Downhill with first and second place of Andrea Fischbacher and Anna Fenninger as well as 7 Austrian skiers in the top 14. Tina Maze of Slovenia took third place +0.47 from the lead.
Alpine Skiing – Men: Kjetil Jansrud of Norway won today’s Super G in Kvitfjell, Norway, in a time of 1:31:39, +0.26 second ahead of Patrick Kueng of Switzerland taking second place. Matthias Mayer of Austria took third place and over World Cup leader Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway missed the podium with the fourth place.
Ski Jumping – Women: in the HS 100 World Cup taking place in Rasnow, Roumania, Sara Takanashi of Japan took the lead and won with 230.4 points, ahead of Jessica Jerome of the United States taking second place with 220 points, and Evelyn Insam of Italy in third position with 212.3 points.
Ski Jumping – Men: Kamil Stoch of Poland won the HS 130 World Cup in Lahti, Finland earlier today with 281 points. Severin Freund of Germany came second and Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria secured third place.
Cross-Country Skiing – Women: In the 10km World Cup in Lahti, Finland, Marit Bjoergen of Norway won with a time of 25:05:3, ahead of Charlotte Kalla of Sweden, and Therese Johaug of Norway. Norway’s Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen and Heidi Weng finished fourth and fifth.
Cross-Country Skiing – Men: Norway seems to dominate every event in Lahti, Finland. Martin Johnsrud Sundby of Norway won with an excellent time of 33:05:5, ahead of Daniel Richardsson and Alexander Legkov of Russia.
