Across the centuries, the north-east corner of Azerbaijan has served as the gateway between Europe and the Middle East. Here, in the shadow of the majestic Caucasus Mountains, hides untold natural beauty. Pristine glaciers and deep ravines, stunning mountain lakes and canyons, and an ecological treasure trove of plants and animals. This is Shahdag in all its splendour.
Located 3 hours by car – or 230 kilometers (143 miles) – north from the capital city Baku, Shahdag is becoming a ski destination that has nothing to envy from its European or North American sister resorts, with the latest infrastructure for its 19 trails and similar weather conditions to Alpine regions. The highest summits are Bazardüzü with 4,485m (14,715 feet) and Mt. Shahdag with 4,243m (13,920 feet) offering breathtaking views and off-piste skiing conditions comparable to the best spots on earth frequently used by freerider, snowboarders and telemarkers.
For the Summer season Shahdag offers a wide range of activities to suit all ages, from an Adventure Park, to inflatable castles and quads bikes to Nordic walking and even Orienteering.
