Women’s Biathlon Pursuit: Belarus has made their way onto the official medal count thanks to the women’s biathlon pursuit. Darya Domracheva was able to claim gold for her country in a dominant race she won by more than 30 seconds.Tora Berger of Norway took home the silver, with Teja Gregorin of Slovenia rounding out the top three and winning a bronze medal.
Men’s Cross-Country: Ola Vigen Hattestad of Norway claimed gold on the men’s Cross Country Skiing Individual Sprint Free, while Sweden’s Teodor Peterson and his teammate, Emil Joensson, earned silver and bronze respectively.
Women’s Freestyle Skiing: Dara Howell of Canada won a gold medal at the ski slopestyle final. Teammate Kim Lamarre added another medal for Canada taking the bronze in the event with a score of 85.00. Devin Logan of the United States won silver.
Women’s Ski Jumping: The women’s normal hill individual ski jumping competition for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, was held at RusSki Gorki Jumping Center in the Esto-Sadok village on the northern slope of Aibga Ridge in Krasnaya Polyana. Women competed in ski jumping for the first time in the history of the Winter Olympic Games. Carina Vogt of Germany won gold with a total distance of 103 meters for her best jump. Daniela Iraschko-Stolz of Austria won silver while Coline Mattel of France won bronze.
