This third and last day of competition of the FIS Telemark World Cup opening confirmed the Swiss domination in both women and men’s competitions on the Hintertux Glacier, Austria.
In the women’s Parallel Sprint, Amelie Reymond of Switzerland and Jasmin Taylor of Great-Britain – both BornSkier Ambassadors – took first and second place while Mathilde Ilebrekke of Norway ended up in third place. It was Amelie Reymond‘s third win of the weekend!
It was a rather good weekend and a great start for the season for Tobias Muller of Germany and Nicolas Michel of Switzerland. They both ended up on all podiums throughout the competition. The third day was Muller’s day taking gold followed by a Swiss pair, Bastien Dayer and Nicolas Michel.
Even if Telemark will not become an Olympic sport – although it should – it remains the most gracious, athletic and thrilling winter sport to watch and a very unique one to practice!
