There was a great organization and exciting races at the first of three Scandinavian stops of the 2014 FIS World Cup Telemark Tour at Funaesdalen, Sweden. In the ladies’ Sprint, Amelie Reymond of Switzerland won by close to 3 seconds ahead on Lisa Englund of Sweden and Simone Oehrli of Switzerland taking second and third spots. In the men’s Sprint, Tobias Mueller of Germany took first place, Bastien Dayer of Switzerland second place and Antoine Bouvier third.
In the ladies’ Parallel Sprint under Swiss domination, Amelie Reymond the final over Simone Oehrli, leaving third place to Lisa Englund of Sweden, winner of the small final. In the men’s Parallel Sprint, there was a norwegian in each finals. Sondre Kristenstuen of Norway won over Phil Lau of France in the final, while Tobias Muller of Germany defeated Trym Loeken Nugaard of Norway in the small final.
In Geilo, Noway, the second of three stops of the Scandinavian World Cup Tour, the results were similar… the ladies events were all dominated by Amelie Reymond of Switzerland – a BornSkier Ambassador – and the men’s events by Tobias Muller of Germany. They both won the Overal World Cup . Note that Johanna Holzmann of Germany and a BornSkier Ambassador won 2 of three Junior World Championships taking place this week in Geilo; She also came second in the World Cup Classic behind Amelie Reymond… promising results for the 2014-2015 season!
The last stop of the Scandinavian tour started yesterday at Rjukan, Norway and will end on March 29. Please see schedule below:
