The Play Spirits’ Playground is a story about mythical Play Spirits who are older than humans. They live in every corner of the world – in the woods, forests, ponds, rivers, oceans, meadows, fields, mountains and hills. As children read the story, they will go on an adventure to 16 different countries and get to play games from around the world! With space to draw different sports, this hands-on coloring book is unique and original and tied directly to outdoor play and participation.
This very unique book is even more special as its author, Hedda Bernsten is the only athlete in the world with international medals in three different ski sports. In 1997, only 20 years old Hedda won the World Championships in Telemark. In 2001, her first season on the alpine world cup circuit, she won the bronze medal in the Slalom at the World Alpine Championship in St. Anton. Then, 9 years later, at the age of 33 she surprised everyone with her Olympic Silver Medal in Skicross at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games. She is also a BornSkier Ambassador!
This book is her second one; Hedda’s vision is to inspire children to go outside and play in nature just for the fun of it: “The idea behind the Play Spirits are that children who has the ability to be caught up in the play some and do it just for fun – they are true Play Spirits. I hope to show the children and the parents what a wonderful playground the earth is and we have so many opportunities and should appreciate and show gratitude to the playful nature of the earth”.
This book is the perfect holiday gift for kids of all ages; Go play and stay fit!
